Bea Alonzo is in consideration to play the lead role of “Betty” in the upcoming Filipino remake of the Latin novela hit Betty La Fea. The right was given to ABS-CBN and the big network has no fix decision yet and still scouting to find out who will be the most appropriate actress to play the role .

Two-weeks ago Regine Velaquez was in the limelight when her name was being grabbed. According to showbiz insiders, ABS-CBN is eyeing her to play the role with a signing contract of 25 million pesos. She already appeared in the Buzz, telling that she will possibly move to the Kapamilya network because she really likes the project. But last Sunday on SOP she already made a statement that she will remain in the kapuso network.

An online showbiz site is undergoing voting on who do you want to play the role? It’s pertaining to the lead role in the upcoming “Betty La Fea” remake. Names of several young actresses are in the lists, in the likes of Toni Gonzaga, KC Concepcion, Anne Curtis, Denise Laurel, Sarah Geronimo, and Regine Velasquez. Amongst the name in the said list its Bea Alonzo leads the voting.

Remember the portrayals she did in her previous television shows and movie projects on the kapamilya channel. She made the marked to be considered as one of the most sought after and one of the best young actresses of her generation.

If Bea will really portray Betty La Fea, she will be shifting acting genre from serious to lite and comical. I’m hoping that ABS-CBN will not likewise do the style of other network in their own remake of famous telenovela, introducing new characters not in the original series, twisting and changing almost the entire storyline.
