GMA 7’S Marimar is supposed to be a remake of the original Mexican telenovela of the same title. The Philippine version of Marimar, however, has made several alterations on the plot and characters. Nevertheless, GMA 7’s Marimar has consistently gained high ratings since it premiered on August 13, 2007.

Marimar Philippines has also brought actress Marian Rivera into the limelight. Marian Rivera who plays Marimar/ Bella Aldama teams up with Dingdong Dantes who plays the character of Sergio Santibañez.

Other members of the Philippine Marimar cast include Richard Gomez,Katrina Halili,Manilyn Reynes, Gabby Eigenmann,Nadine Samonte, Sheena Halili and Marvin Agustin.
