The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince, , which is also known as the Coffee Prince is another Koreanovela from South Korea that is gradually gaining popularity among the Filipino audience. The Coffee Prince premiered in the Philippines via the GMA 7 network on January 1, 2008. It stars the following Korean celebrities:

• Gong Yoo as Arthur Choi
• Yoon Eun Hye as Andie Go
• Lee Sun Gyun as Errol Choi
• Chae Jung Ahn as Arlene Han

The Coffee Prince theme song “Because of You” is sung by singer Martin Nievera. Coffee Prince is aired from around 10 pm to 10:45 on weekdays.

GMA 7 has already announced that it will be airing Dyesebel as one of its Primetime TV series this 2008. Unfortunately, the Kapuso network has not yet unveiled who will play the lead role in Dyesebel. There are various speculations regarding who will be playing the Dyesebel role.

Here are who people think would be the more likely candidates to play the Dyesebel role:

Marian Rivera. Marimar star Marian Rivera is actually willing to go topless if offered the Dyesebel role. According to her, "wala namang sirenang naka-bra". I hope though that GMA will search for more talents. Nakakasawa naman na laging si Marian na lang.

Rhian Ramos. There are also speculations that Rhian Ramos is being eyed to play the Dyesebel role. Personally though, Rhian Ramos' acting skills still need to be improved if GMA is serious on getting her as Dyesebel. Otherwise, the Dyesebel fanstaserye will more likely flop if the lead actress merely recites her lines and does not actually act well.

I am not actually fond of watching afternoon TV shows like Wowowee and eat bulaga. This is for reason that I am not really entertained by these types of show. I am actually watching wowowee right now because some relatives are here in the house and the PC is just beside the TV.

I am watching this segment of Willie Revillame's Wowowee where the contestants, sidesweeps, are told by Willie to read some text messages in the cellphone. Unfortunately, some of the contestants cannot read the messages correctly. Some of The contestants seem to be even coming up with a different version of the messages because they cannot get them right.

What I do not appreciate about it is that Willie Revillame asks the contestants to read the text messages and laughs out when the contestants do not read the messages right. Why make contestants read the messages if they have a hard time reading the messages? Is the purpose to make fun out of them because they are not as intellectual as many of the watching TFC subscribers?

I will try to watch Eat Bulaga by next week to see if the hosts are as insensitive as Willie Revillame. I hope that the Eat Bulaga hosts are more aware that studio contestants also get ashamed when laughed out and insulted.

Less fortunate studio contestants are there for prizes and money but they need not go through very insulting jokes of insensitive hosts.

It seems that the Kapuso network will be having a good new year despite it being implicated with the AGB Nielsen TV ratings issues and its ongoing legal battle with rival network ABS CBN. GMA 7 will seem to have a lucky new year if luck is based on the 2008 buena mano TV ratings for January 1 and 2.

Marimar despite its increasingly sickening plot still remains in its primetime top spot and the new koreanovela Coffee Prince, is already on the 8th spot.

I was able to watch ABS CBN’s trailer of Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara and right after watching the trailer, I decided to try watching it. Aside from the fact that Kris Aquino (who have done excellent performances in her previous suspense/horror and “howling” movies) and Susan Roces will be starring in this horror sineserye, the thrill and suspense of watching Patayin mo sa Sindak si Barbara itself, I believe, will be worth my time.

The casts of Patayin sa Sindak sa Barbara include Susan Roces, Kris Aquino, Jodi Sta. Maria-Lacson, Maja Salvador and Celine Lim. Sineserye Presents The Susan Roces Cinema Collection: Patayin Sa Sindak Si Barbara premiered on January 7, 2007. For those who were not able to watch the premiere episode of Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara, you can watch it via youtube. Youtube user ArvDomingo has already uploaded the first episode of Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara.

I am getting quite sick of the Marimar plot. This and my busy schedule must have been the major reasons why I have not been watching Marian Rivera’s Marimar telenovela lately. I will no longer be surprised if other shows will overtake Marimar in the ratings. GMA and the people who are behind this Philippine version of Marimar should not rely on the high ratings of Marimar. They should do something about the story.
